About the Event

Have you ever watched The Amazing Race on TV and thought to yourself, I can do that? This is your chance!

This year’s Amazing Race, sponsored by CAA Niagara, will take place on Sunday, May 28, 2023, starting from Club Richelieu in Welland, and taking your four-person team on a whirlwind adventure across the Niagara Region, where you will visit some of the Region’s most exciting venues and compete in skill-testing mental and physical challenges!

After you cross the Amazing Race Finish Line, you will enjoy our newly revamped Finish Line Celebration, featuring a mouth-watering barbecue dinner, fantastic live entertainment, more games and activities, and capping off with our Awards Presentation for our Top Fundraising, Scoring and Most Spirited Teams.

Last year, our Amazing Racers came together to raise a record-shattering over $30,000.00 for the Kristen French Child Advocacy Centre, allowing us to continue our important programs and services to help, heal, and end child abuse in the Niagara. Thank you so much for your epic fundraising efforts in 2022 to help us achieve this incredible goal!

The unfortunate reality is that the need for our programs and services continues to increase. This year, we hope to raise another $35,000.00 through the Amazing Race Niagara to benefit our programs and services such as one-on-one counselling support for kids at no cost to families and without a waitlist, afterschool programs that support healing through yoga and art therapy, and Niagara’s first trauma-informed day camp, Camp Acorn.

Amazing Race Niagara Teams fundraise on behalf of the Kristen French Child Advocacy Centre. Each team has a goal of $800.00, but many teams far surpass that goal. All pledges and registrations are processed online through CanadaHelps and can be paid by credit card. Cash pledges will be accepted at the Centre (8 Forester St, St. Catharines) until Thursday, May 25, 2023 at 3:00 pm. No cash pledges will be accepted on Race Day. Online pledges will count towards the team’s final fundraising total until 12:00 pm on Race Day – Sunday, May 28, 2023.

The race takes approximately 4 hours to complete, and the decisions teams make along the way will impact their final time and score. Scores will be calculated based on the report of Volunteer Judges on each Challenge Site. The team that completes necessary race components, with the most points and fastest time will win the Amazing Race Niagara competition. The team that raises the most funds for the Kristen French Child Advocacy Centre Niagara by 12:00 pm on Sunday, May 28, 2023, will win the fundraising competition.

While the Amazing Race Niagara organizing committee strives to ensure a balance between physical and mental challenges, however a limited physical ability is needed to perform many of the activities throughout the event, including but not limited to: water activities, bike-riding, etc. Alternative activities will be available should a team decline a physical challenge, however the full points may not be awarded. In some cases, other team members may sub in for a participant that declines a certain activity.

Prizes will be awarded to the following teams:

  • Best Fundraisers – The Top Three Best Fundraising Teams (All pledges must be received by 12:00 pm on Sunday, May 28, 2023)
  • Highest Scores – The Top Three Highest Scoring Teams
  • Best Decorated Car – Nothing says Amazing Race like a wildly decorated ride! Let your creativity run wild!
